A part of a review from www.amazon.com A Life Saving Book By "Wookalia" (MN, US) Though I know Griffin is a credible researcher, I nonetheless tracked down several cancer survivors who have used laetrile to cure their condition, and vitamin distributors who have had B-17 seized by the FDA. There is no substitute for primary sources, and those I interviewed substantiated Griffin's main claims. Individuals unfamiliar with B-17's remarkable results often scoff at such alternative medical "lunacy". Two caveats may aid the hard-nosed skeptic. As Griffin admits candidly, B-17 isn't a magic cure-all; it is a key component in a holistic regimen that requires serious lifestyle changes and genuine sacrifice. The mere fact that the FDA outlawed laetrile is not prima facie proof that it fails to cure cancer; an open minded individual might ask, "Does scientific evidence proving that laetrile cures cancer exist?" Griffin provides this evidence. Islamic Architecture International Symposium on the Conservation and Restoration of Islamic Cairo The Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the UNESCO World Heritage Center organized an International Symposium on the Conservation & Restoration of Islamic Cairo from February 16-20, 2002, in Cairo. World experts on the conservation of historic cities and Islamic architecture, both Egyptians and foreigners, among them Ayman Abdal Munim, Salah Lamei, Assad al-Nadim, Ronald Lewcock, Flemming Aalund, Jukka Jokilehto, Giorgio Croci, Shadia Touqan, participated. Although the program was open to the press and the public, the size of the designated rooms unfortunately limited the number of those who could join in the discussions. The program focussed on the two primary parts of the Historic Cairo Restoration Program (HCRP), in place since May of 1998. The first is nothing less than a massive intervention which will restore 149 monuments by 2004. Thematic sessions on the techniques of conservation and structural consolidation were presented, as well as technical workshops on specific projects currently being implemented by the Supreme Council of Antiquities. Here the problems of the rising ground water table, pollution, traffic, were highlighted. Finally, I am ready to share my experiences on how I made "them" look bad about the teacher preparatory program in this Part II series from Part I titled Let's Take a Look at the Backbone of Deaf Education in a response to David Eberwein. In my previous vlog, I criticized about the curriculum in a deaf education program at University of Southern Mississippi (USM). It later led me to receive angry, explosive e-mail messages from USM students and staff saying that what I just exposed was not what it looked like to them. With this type of approach, you must have your own armor and shield ready to deal with such controversial issues. What I did was to provoke them, question them, oh yes attack them, anger them, put them in denial and you name it. I received several e-mails that I would like to share with you and how I responded to it. The bottom line with this approach is that it surely got their attention. I thought it would be fair to share you their side of the story however most of them yet acknowledge the need to change in their curriculum. They defended their program saying that it was enriched with cultural experience in the deaf community outside the program. While I am pleased that they are immersed in the ASL environment but my focus is the curriculum itself. When we study history, you can find plenty of events where one makes them look bad.
